It pays to hang onto your Patchwork & Stitching Magazines if you are like me.

Saturday afternoon date
Hubby saw a story on TV last weekend about a little shop at Newstead called Dello Mano. He asked if I’d like to visit so today it was a date! Who says no to visiting a chocolate shop????
This Pistachio & Rosewater hand made Brownie made it all the way home. Wonders will never cease!
(sorry for the out of focus pic, my withdrawal tremors are triggered around chocolate!)

Life is Beautiful
A Travel Journal Cover – but I think I might find some ric-rac or similar to ‘dress’ the outside circle edge. Perhaps it’s a bit wonky because I was hand stitching at midnight?
I do love Cosmo Seasons Variegated range of threads.

Big Quilt Completion
After being undecided as to how I would quilt my quilt top, I bit the bullet and sent my Spinning Charms Quilt to Koolkat Quilting in Toowoomba. Kathy at Koolkat suggested a couple of quilting designs, from which I chose ‘sticky buns’. Brenda from Widebacks emailed me several backing suggestions of which I liked Black Chrysanthemums on White. I bound it in a Black Homespun. Today was it’s first outing as my ‘show and tell’ to my monthly quilting meeting at The Quilters Store in Salisbury.
While at the The Quilters Store I purchased some Hobbs Iron-On Cotton Wadding which I look forward to trying out soon on a smaller quilt top.

Birth Wall Quilt
On this lovely long weekend while getting over the flu, I finished of a little quilt for my sister’s new baby boy and my first nephew who is already 3 months old. She doesn’t sew and therefore wouldn’t know the effort put in to make this but I started this tradition with the birth of my first niece and felt obliged to continue with….
. I’ve packaged a thumb tac in with it for posting off today, so hopefully this makes it up on the wall?
I quite like how it looks with the light behind it thanks to very colourful backing fabric.
This one…who knows what happened to it when it reached it’s destination…..
And another early addition to my tradition. Perhaps I should have kept to this same style for all of them?

Stitched Critters
Who’s been digging in the garden?
These stitcheries are part of Jeans Garden Block of the Month. All blocks are now stitched, awaiting some finishing touches before the fun of quilting it.

Quilt progress update
Sunday and a little sewing later in the afternoon. This is what was accomplished….
I put the 12 blocks together & laid them out to audition their position in the quilt..
Then there was some time to complete the pinwheels that are included in the border.
I’m thinking about turning the blocks into a quilt as you go method after originally thinking I might send this away for quilting – so it’s back to considering that now…
Hope you like it!

A little progress….
You wouldn’t believe how much cutting and sewing there is in the pile of material above.
This quilt has to be one of my biggest projects this year to date.
Easter Over-load!
You’d never think that in our household that the Easter Bunny myth has been exposed!
Look at the bounty of Red Tulip and Cadbury gifted this year.
